Skywarp has been influenced by electronic music since an early age. His first exposure to electronic music was through the track "Pump Up The Volume" by M.A.R.R.S. he heard on a local TV station while he was living in Germany. Yet his passion for techno and trance did not fully develop until 1996/1997 when he was introduced to two tracks - "The Day X" and "Sonic Empire" - written by Maximilian Lenz and Klaus Jankhun, better known as Members of Mayday.
Around that time, Skywarp moved to Edmonton where he started getting increasingly involved in the local dance scene. After some time he realized that the musical part of the local scene is getting somewhat stagnant, so he decided to take initiative. In August 2000 he obtained a pair of turntables and started collecting and playing music he loves and feels is very underrepresented - Goa and psychedelic trance. After only four months of performing within his own four walls, Skywarp was booked for his first public appearance. Shortly thereafter, he had the privilege of playing several major indoor and outdoor events across Alberta.
Currently, he is the only active goa DJ in Edmonton. Besides Goa trance, which is his main focus, Skywarp is also known to play hard German trance, inspired by names such as Mark EG, Scot Project, Uberdruck, and Alphazone.
Throughout his career, Skywarp has shown dedication and love for music through his varied and intriguing music selection and precise mixing. Several old and hard to find classic goa albums are an essential part of his play lists.
